On every other launchpad, ten coins called PEPE launch before breakfast and stay that way forever. On Diggers a name is up for grabs until someone earns it: reach Blue chip and the name locks to you. Win it and the whole site knows.
The registry tracks the name and the ticker as two separate, case-insensitive keys: DOGE, doge and DoGe are the same claim. At launch, nothing is reserved. Any number of coins can share a name while they fight it out on the charts. The only thing that ever locks a key is a coin becoming a live Blue chip, at which point its name and ticker are held for as long as it keeps the status. There are no paid reservations and no launch-time locks to buy.
Locking a name is not something you pay for; it is something you earn. When a coin reaches Blue chip, its name and ticker keys are claimed for it automatically. No other coin can take them while the status holds. If the coin ever loses Blue chip, the keys do not snap open, they wait out a 48-hour grace period first, covered in keeping blue chip, so a brief dip cannot be sniped. The names "Diggers" and "DIG" are reserved permanently as brand protection.
A locked name, a live Blue chip holding its keys, gets the aurora: an animated shimmer on its name and ticker everywhere they appear on Diggers, from the boards to the coin page to search results. It is instantly recognizable and impossible to counterfeit, because the site draws it only from registry state.
Note the trap for the lazy: there is no way to buy the aurora. It only lights for coins that are Blue chip right now, so the shimmer means one undeniable thing, this community earned its name and is still strong enough to hold it.

Nothing stops a duplicate name before you're a Blue chip — the flex is earned, not reserved. Once you're Blue chip the name is locked to you, and a 48 hour grace on any demotion keeps it from being sniped during a brief dip.
Tickers are 1 to 10 characters of letters and digits. Names are 1 to 32 characters and may add single internal spaces. Comparison folds case, so Pepe, PEPE and pepe are one key.
The animated seal is the visual flex of a locked name: Blue chip coins render it across the site, signaling on-chain that the identity is protected.
